You’ve probably felt it in the air—no, not a change in temperature, but the imminent return of fall Starbucks drinks. The real ones know that the true arrival of fall has nothing to do with a temperature drop or the colors of the leaves, but the ability to order a Pumpkin Spice Latte at the beloved coffee chain. And the good news is the wait is over: As of Tuesday, August 30, you’ll officially be able to order your seasonal favorites again.
Of course, the PSL is back (for its 19th year!), as is the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. Along with these perennial pumpkin favorites is the newest fall beverage introduced just last year, the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato.
Keep reading for the best fall Starbucks drinks on the menu, along with all the ways you can customize them, as well as a few products to help you bring the autumnal vibes into your home kitchen.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
You probably already know everything there is to know about the PSL, but we’ll remind you just in case. The iconic drink is made with Starbucks Signature Espresso and the steamed milk of your choice, along with a sauce made with real pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Traditionally, it’s topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice, but you can order without whip for a lighter option. You can also order the PSL iced, or in Frappuccino form.
Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
Back for its fourth year, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is made with Starbucks Cold Brew, sweetened with vanilla syrup, and topped with pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice. It’s worth noting that because of the fluffy cold foam, this fan favorite can’t be made vegan or dairy-free.
Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato
This tasty (and sweet!) drink combines the staple fall flavors of apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar with a spiced apple drizzle. But after debuting in 2021, this year’s version features a major update: The standard recipe will be made with creamy oatmilk and Starbucks Blonde Espresso. “The oatmilk adds a creaminess and brings forward the oat flavors of a traditional apple crisp topping,” says Harvey Rojas Mora, Starbucks beverage developer. Still, you can order it with any milk of your choosing, and like the PSL, the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato is available hot, iced, and in blended Frappuccino form.
Pumpkin Hot Chocolate (and More)
Confession: We’ve already listed all of the official fall drinks. But who doesn’t like to go off-menu once in a while? For fall drinks at Starbucks without coffee, try adding pumpkin syrup to a standard hot chocolate, white hot chocolate, or even chai latte—and thank us later. For further customization, these options can also be made nonfat or with nondairy milk.
Caramel Apple Spice
It’s available year-round, but the Caramel Apple Spice just hits different this time of year. Made with steamed apple juice, cinnamon dolce syrup, whipped cream, and caramel sauce, it’s like a drinkable apple pie—and a great option if you want a fall drink without coffee. During PSL season, you can also order a Caramel Apple Pumpkin Spice, which adds pumpkin spice syrup to the mix. One thing we should mention: Because the caramel sauce is made with dairy, these drinks technically can’t be made dairy-free.
Chai Latte
Made with cinnamon, cloves, and more warm spices, the chai latte is especially delicious during cooler months. If you’re looking for a nondairy Starbucks drink, try this one with coconut milk or any alt-milk of your choice.
Starbucks Nitro Cold Brew Pumpkin Cream
We’re the first to admit Starbucks’ at-home drinks have saved us on more than one occasion, and this pumpkin-infused Nitro Cold Brew is sure to become a new obsession. Smooth, creamy, and a bit spicy, it’s the next best thing to popping in for a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew.
Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Flavored Nondairy Creamer
Just as tasty is the nondairy coffee creamer, which has an almond- and oatmilk base and is flavored with the comforting flavors of pumpkin spice. If you find the seasonal drinks to be too sweet, the 30-calorie creamer is also a nice way to enjoy the flavors of the season without too much sugar.
