Giorgio Armani Mare starts resort and city pop-up tour
As consumers globally get the travel bug again, Giorgio Armani
The company has kicked off the tour with seaside boutiques in Porto Cervo, St Tropez, Puerto Banús and Cannes. And further pop-ups are opening this month and next in Taormina at Parisi Woman
for the occasion on 1 July), China’s Sanya Capella Hotel, Sylt, Shenzhen Mix City, Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, RivieraMykonos
During the tour, the itinerant collection “will be presented in a specially created setting in dusty shades of blue and light blue with palm trees and stylised tropical leaf patterns on a rope-coloured background”.
The collection aims to offer everything a person would need to enjoy beach season both during the day and at night, including women’s tunics, fluid trousers, pareo skirts, long dresses, little tops, bodysuits and shorts in linen, satin or knit, in a “vivid” colour range of blue, purple and light blue notes.
Of course, there’s swimwear, along with beach bags, matching clutches and beach towels, raffia bags and espadrilles.
For men, the collection includes shirts, waistcoats and soft trousers adorned with geometric motifs, monograms, tie designs and chevrons. Linen and délavé linen is used for “decidedly holiday-like” shirts, polo shirts and Bermuda shorts.
As well as the pop-ups, the collection will also be available in all Giorgio Armani boutiques worldwide.
And there’s a social purpose element to the offer too as World Oceans Day approaches. Armani has chosen to enter into a partnership with the One Ocean Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting marine ecosystems and promoting a sustainable blue economy.
Projects to protect marine and coastal biodiversity will be developed. And in Porto Cervo a programme is being launched to restore and conserve under-pressure coastal dune belts.
