Indixia launches New York event

Arts education in India is chronically underfunded, despite a growing interest in Indian art. To help remedy the problem, Indian author, industrialist and philanthropist Satish Modi founded the International Institute of Fine Arts and charity Arts For India.

Arts for India launched in the UK in 2010 and each year, 100 underprivileged students benefit from the Arts for India 4-year scholarship program to attend IIFA.

Now it has launched Indixia in New York, which took place on September 17-24. Indixia centers on “a unique alliance between international supporters from the worlds of Fine Art, Design, Fashion, Cinema and Philanthropy.” It featured a film forum and art exhibition, as well as a fashion exhibition that showcased designer collaborations with IIFA student textiles and one of a kind pieces by designers including, Edmundo Castillo, Stubbs and Wootton and Uniqlo

Indixia will next be held in London in June 2016, to be followed by Hong Kong. It will also host VIP parties at the Oscar and Cannes film events.
